Erik Johnson is Executive in Residence for Bank of America at the MIT Center for Future Banking, specializing in technology innovation and identity, privacy and security research initiatives.
At Bank of America since 2001, he has led teams responsible for global collaboration technology architecture, secure electronic messaging and enterprise e-mail design. He is a recognized industry expert and speaker on e-mail authentication and online fraud. He serves as a consultant to BITS, a division of the Financial Services Round Table, and has presented online security best practices to numerous groups including federal legislative branch CTOs. He serves on the board of directors for the Authentication and Online Trust Alliance, His prior work includes business technology integration consulting at companies such as Raytheon, State Street Bank, Merck Serono and Pearson Education.
Erik has a bachelor's degree in biology, and is a published co-author on several scientific papers dealing with bone development and genetic engineering. He and his family reside in the Boston area.
